VFW PROGRAMS

BUDDY POPPY

For more than 75 years, the VFW's Buddy Poppy program has raised millions of dollars in support of veterans' welfare and the well being of their dependents. This fundraiser happens twice a year Memorial Day weekend and Veteransday weekend

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

Every year, hundreds of thousands of students participate in the the various scholarships and incentives the VFW offers garnering more than $3.4 million. These include the Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition and the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest.

In addition, the VFW also honors an outstanding scout through the VFW Scout of the Year Scholarship program.

Deadlines for the Voice of Democracy and Patriots' Pen Youth Essay are November 1st. The Scouting Scholarship deadline is March 1st.
